My Experiences

Deputy Head of Research and Planning Unit (2010-present)

In this role I lead a team of young vibrant graduates in developing, monitoring and evaluating organizational strategies; coordinating donor and government-funded projects; and measuring organizational performance. This has helped me brush up my skills in the areas of leadership, team dynamics, meeting strict deadlines, document production, strategic planning, research and computer proficiency.

Trainer in Criminal Intelligence Analysis (2011-present)

In 2011 I was trained by the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (SARPCCO) as a trainer in criminal intelligence analysis. Since then I have taken up the additional job of training young criminal intelligence officers which has tremendously sharpened my analytical and presentation skills.

University Lecturer

Since April this year I have taken up a part-time job as a lecturer at the Centre for security Studies of Mzuzu University in Malawi. This has further honed my skills in the areas of presentation, analysis and synthesis. Because I did this job alongside my regular employment as a police officer and as an MSc student at the University of Leicester, I have learned to manage my time better and to delegate to my subordinates more of the tasks that I used to do. This has helped to know my officers better which has resulted in a highly empowered, motivated and productive workforce.
